Specialist Menopause Physiotherapy in Cambridge
Every woman will experience menopause as their hormone levels gradually change and they are no longer able to have children. Natural menopause usually happens between the ages of 45 to 55 but some women may go through this transition earlier as a result of a medical condition or surgical procedure.
This transition may be deeply felt and for many women it can be a time of anxiety and distress due to both the physical symptoms and the unexpected impact of menopause on their lives.
Menopause symptoms may be hugely varied, so it’s hardly surprising that lots of women might not know if their experiences are related to menopause and what support is available and how treatment can help.
A Women’s Health physiotherapist is specially trained to help women during this transition. At Physiofit, we will work with you sensitively to understand how your body is changing during menopause, help you manage your symptoms, explore treatment options and reduce the impact of this transition on your day-to-day life. You’ll leave feel clearer and more empowered to care properly for your body now and for the future.
The Cambridge Menopause Check
During the early stages of menopause (perimenopause) you start to produce less oestrogen, which is the main female hormone. Reduced oestrogen levels can impact joint, muscle and bone health. The pelvic floor muscles are particularly affected by these hormonal changes and this can cause a wide range of pelvic issues.
The Cambridge Menopause Check is a comprehensive menopause consultation, examination and treatment plan with a specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist.
