Therapeutic injections with a specialist physiotherapist
If you’ve ever thought it would be great if someone could ‘oil’ your painful joint like a stiff door hinge, then you might be interested in our injection clinic.
Healthy joints naturally produce plenty of lubrication, called synovial fluid, which acts as a shock absorber and allows your joints to move smoothly without friction. Part of the synovial fluid is made up of a gel–like substance called Hyaluronic Acid, which breaks down if you develop osteoarthritis in one of your joints.
Loss of Hyaluronic Acid means the synovial fluid becomes more watery and can’t protect or lubricate your joint as effectively, causing inflammation of the inner membranes lining the joint and breakdown of the cartilage covering the bones, leading to pain and joint stiffness.
